Day 1
Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda
Welcome to Uganda and the beginning of your 10 Days Exclusive Uganda Safari. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, complete the immigration and customs formalities before meeting your Enkare Safaris representative outside the baggage-claim area.
You will then be transferred to Karibu Guest House, a peaceful boutique property situated on a leafy hillside in Entebbe. After checking in, take time to settle into your room, relax in the gardens or unwind beside the swimming pool after your international journey.
The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing you to recover and prepare for the experiences ahead. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a quiet evening at the guest house before dinner and your first overnight stay in Uganda.

After breakfast, meet your guide and transfer to the jetty for a boat excursion through Mabamba Wetland. Located near Lake Victoria, this extensive wetland is one of Uganda’s best-known locations for observing the rare and distinctive shoebill.
Travel through narrow channels in a small boat as your local guide searches the papyrus vegetation and open-water areas. In addition to the shoebill, possible sightings include the lesser jacana, papyrus gonolek, northern brown-throated weaver, orange weaver, kingfishers and other wetland birds.
The excursion offers an excellent introduction to Uganda’s diverse birdlife and freshwater ecosystems. After completing the wetland experience, return to Karibu Guest House and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure before dinner and overnight.

Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early breakfast, check out and depart Entebbe with your professional safari driver-guide. Travel along the Entebbe–Kampala Expressway before continuing north through towns, agricultural areas and rural villages towards Murchison Falls National Park.
Along the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided white-rhino tracking experience. Accompanied by trained sanctuary guides, approach the rhinos on foot while learning about their behaviour, habitat and the conservation work undertaken to restore Uganda’s rhino population.
Continue for lunch before proceeding towards Murchison Falls National Park. Time permitting, visit the top of the falls, where the River Nile is forced through a narrow rocky gorge before dropping powerfully below, and then continue to Pakuba Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4
Murchison Falls Game Drive and Nile Cruise
Begin the morning with an early game drive across the northern bank of the River Nile. This part of Murchison Falls National Park contains open savannah, woodland and riverine habitats that support an impressive variety of wildlife.
Search for elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, bushbucks, Bohor reedbucks and spotted hyenas. Leopards are also present but are more elusive, while the open landscapes provide excellent opportunities for wildlife photography and observation.
After returning to the lodge for breakfast and lunch, board an afternoon boat cruise upstream towards the base of Murchison Falls. Watch for hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and bird species such as Goliath herons, kingfishers, cormorants and bee-eaters before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Along the way, observe traditional homesteads, cultivated farms, small trading centres and the changing scenery of western Uganda. A packed or picnic lunch will be provided during the journey, allowing the group to continue comfortably towards Kibale.
Arrive at Turaco Treetops in the late afternoon and check into your forest accommodation. Spend the remainder of the evening relaxing among the trees, listening to the surrounding birdlife and preparing for the following day’s chimpanzee trekking experience.

Day 6
Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
After breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a pre-trek briefing. Your ranger will explain the appropriate behaviour in the forest, safety procedures and what to expect when approaching the chimpanzees.
Enter Kibale Forest with experienced trackers and walk through the rainforest in search of a habituated chimpanzee community. In addition to chimpanzees, the forest supports other primates, birds and diverse plant life, making the trek an immersive exploration of one of Uganda’s richest forest ecosystems.
After completing the trek, return to meet your driver and have lunch before continuing to the Bigodi Wetland area. Enjoy a guided swamp walk in search of monkeys, wetland birds and other wildlife, then return to Turaco Treetops for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 7
Kibale to the Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, leave Kibale and travel towards the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you through western Uganda’s countryside before entering a quieter and more remote section of the park.
Arrive at Ishasha Wilderness Camp around lunchtime and check into your tented accommodation beside the Ntungwe River. Enjoy lunch and take time to relax while appreciating the camp’s secluded riverfront setting and surrounding wilderness.
Later in the afternoon, depart on a game drive in search of Ishasha’s famous tree-climbing lions. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and other savannah wildlife before returning to camp before dusk for dinner and overnight.
Day 8
Ishasha to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, check out and begin the journey from the Ishasha sector towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The landscape gradually changes from open savannah to cultivated hills, forested slopes and densely vegetated highlands.
The drive provides a closer view of rural life in southwestern Uganda, with small communities, farmland and mountain scenery along the route. As you approach Bwindi, the environment becomes greener and more dramatic, reflecting the ecological importance of this ancient rainforest.
Arrive at Mahogany Springs Lodge during the afternoon and settle into your suite overlooking the surrounding greenery. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, organising your trekking equipment and preparing physically and mentally for the following morning’s gorilla encounter.
Day 9
Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the designated trailhead in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Complete the registration process and attend a detailed ranger briefing covering gorilla behaviour, trekking procedures, safety precautions and the assigned gorilla family.
Enter the forest with experienced trackers and begin the search through thick vegetation and uneven mountain terrain. The duration of the trek varies according to the gorillas’ location and may range from a relatively short walk to several hours, so comfortable footwear, suitable clothing and a reasonable level of fitness are important.
Once the gorillas are found, spend the permitted viewing period observing their behaviour, feeding, grooming and family interactions. Afterwards, return to the trailhead, meet your driver and transfer back to Mahogany Springs Lodge for a well-earned afternoon of relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 10
Fly from Kihihi to Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out and beginning the road transfer to Kihihi Airstrip. The drive provides a final opportunity to appreciate southwestern Uganda’s green hills, cultivated valleys and rural communities.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, complete the check-in process and board your scheduled flight to Entebbe. The light-aircraft journey reduces the long return drive and offers aerial views of Uganda’s lakes, forests, farmland and changing landscapes.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, connect with your onward international flight or transfer to additional accommodation arranged separately. Your 10 Days Exclusive Uganda Safari concludes with memorable experiences of shoebills, rhinos, Murchison Falls, chimpanzees, tree-climbing lions and mountain gorillas. The Kihihi–Entebbe flight is listed in the supplier’s package inclusions.

- Regular
The “regular” or “dry” safari season in East Africa generally offers optimal game viewing due to reduced rainfall and vegetation, making it easier to spot wildlife. These months offer a balance between lower prices, fewer tourists, and decent game viewing.
- Peak
Animals are concentrated around water, vegetation is low and sparse, and predators are circling. But at this time of year, the famous wildebeest migration is in Tanzania’s Serengeti, moving southwards following the end of year rains. Witness the Serengeti dramatic birthing season: it’s one of the best times to watch predator/prey interaction.
- Green
It’s green because it’s wet. This is the time of the ‘Long Rains’ and some of the more remote and wild reserves in East Africa are worth avoiding; accommodations may be closed anyway. Gorilla trekking becomes more difficult, and in Kenya and Tanzania’s reserves, wildlife tends to disperse across wider areas, making animals more difficult to see.
